Favorite Travel Gear

What you need to backpack the world with.

Since beginning to travel in 2012, I’ve done a great deal of research on traveling. I’ve studied the perfect destinations, how to travel on a budget, & the best travel gear.

I began my traveling career by purchasing the cheapest gear… After buying the cheapest items to have them later fall apart, I’ve realized that high quality is an absolute definite… And it even saves you money in the long run.

I’ve also bought too many items that were a “must have” only to never use them…
I’m looking at you silk cocoon sheet, hammock, passport fanny pack, & lifestraw.

Well friends, I am here to recommend you my favorite travel gear that considers minimalism & high quality.
Rest assured, that each product is of high value & quality.

First, when investing in new gear- I compare the same exact products on 3 websites.

First, I look for my gear on Ebay. I find that you can often find the best prices there & often times the item is in bulk.
Following, I browse on REI. I often purchase expensive items from REI because I’m a co-op member. Member’s receive a 1 year, no questions asked return policy. We also are rewarded with a yearly dividend for purchases made throughout the year. If you live near a store, be sure to pop into the store. There you will receive expert knowledge about an item that you’re considering buying. They will also fit you for backpacks, shoes, & other gear… HINT: You don’t have to buy from them to receive this incredible knowledge (amazing, right!?).
Lastly, I am a huge Amazon fan. I love that I can order an item & receive it within two days, buy an item “Used-Like New for a discount, and read & compare reviews.

The links found in this article are “affiliate links” meaning if you were to purchase items through the links, I would earn a small commission. Purchasing through the link is at no extra cost to you & helps support me in my entrepreneurial endeavors.

Even though I give you Amazon links, be sure to shop around.

Sleep Mask
Used Since: January 2016
A sleep mask is a no-brainer for when you’re sleeping on bus’, in hostel dorm rooms, or on airplanes.
This mask is excellent because it covers up a great deal of your face so that light cannot enter into your eyelids. It’s Velcro strap allows   you to adjust how tight it is on your face (so that it doesn’t fall off.)
Traveling can lead to a messy sleep schedule, use a sleeping mask to guarantee your zzz’s.

Coffee Maker

This 360 degree pillow stops your neck from aching while waiting at the airport, sitting on the airplane, or commuting (as a passenger) to your next city! Side note: since it’s memory foam, it isn’t very compact for trips with a ton of commuting & re-packing…
